DAFOH interviews CA State Senator Anderson about the fate of organ harvesting resolution

Last summer, California State Senator Joel Anderson (Rep. 38th district) initiated a resolution condemning the Chinese government’s forced organ harvesting of Falun Gong practitioners. His efforts were thwarted, however, after he and his colleagues received a threatening letter from the Chinese consulate claiming that passing the resolution would "deeply damage" California-Chinese relations. DAFOH interviewed Senator Anderson regarding these events.

The Vatican continues efforts to court the Chinese Communist Party

In an effort to improve relations with China, home to approximately 10 million Catholics, the Vatican appears to have turned a blind eye to the nation's violations of religious freedoms as well as its forced organ harvesting practices. Much like TTS and WHO, the Vatican is accepting Chinese officials’ assurances of transplantation reform at face value. In the absence of objective oversight, an authoritarian government, which has equated non-state sanctioned religious practices with terrorism, can say or write anything it wants. It is therefore incumbent on any democratic organization to judge not by words but by verifiable action.

State-organized Criminal Forced Organ Harvesting

In the Journal of Trafficking and Human Exploitation, Trey and Matas ask, “How should the international community react when a country’s government participates in an unlawful, criminal organ trafficking practice?” There is but one course of action for the world to take. The international community must address this human rights crisis, expose past and ongoing crimes and demonstrate concern for the victims by pressuring China to end live forced organ harvesting of all prisoners of conscience.

CCP influence may be reason U.S. medical schools ignore China’s forced organ harvesting

For over a decade, the academic medical community has not seriously addressed the extensive evidence of ongoing live forced organ harvesting of Falun Gong practitioners.  Perhaps academic physicians have been misled by dogma spouted by their institution’s Confucius Institutes and/or Chinese Students and Scholars Associations. Now is the time for all to face the realities of the Chinese Communist Party regime’s twenty year-long persecution and forced live organ harvesting of Falun Gong practitioners and other prisoners of conscience.

The Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) soft power agenda to influence Western society, from theft of intellectual property to restriction of academic freedom to outright spying, has continued to expand around the globe. Awareness of such manipulations has fortunately grown as well. How can any of us believe that a government with a long history of severe human rights abuses would tell the truth about organ transplantation?

We must all open our eyes and carefully examine the behavior and true nature of the Chinese Communist Party. Since the Paris Commune, communist governments have created chaos and violent struggle in society. In China, the CCP’s entire history is a tale of lies, wars, famine, tyranny, massacre and terror. Spiritual faith and ethical principles have been destroyed as compassion, empathy and harmony among people have been distorted into struggle and hatred.  Through deliberate planning, the CCP has engineered the collapse of social, moral and ecological structures. There is no rule of law in China’s totalitarian state.

Before anyone accepts China’s promises of transplant reform, the ethics of China’s hugely profitable state-run transplant industry should be objectively examined. Where is the proof that organ harvesting from executed prisoners, let alone living prisoners of conscience, has ended?  When one of the largest Catholic churches in China has just been demolished and the Vatican has bowed to demands allowing a religiously intolerant government to appoint bishops, how can the CCP’s reassurances regarding organ sourcing be believed?

Confucius opined, "An oppressive government is more to be feared than a tiger." Centuries later, Churchill echoed this sentiment, "You cannot reason with a tiger when your head is in its mouth".

International researchers have consistently demonstrated that live forced organ harvesting of prisoners of conscience, primarily Falun Gong practitioners, continues unabated in China. Vivisection of innocents has formed the foundation of China’s entire transplant infrastructure and industry.

There is no ethical alternative but to disengage immediately and completely from China’s transplantation professionals. Stop training Chinese transplant professional in Western medical teaching hospitals, sever collaboration and research with Chinese counterparts. Those who accept financial compensation for the sale of organs from innocent people who have chosen to be guided in their lives by the principles of truthfulness, compassion and forbearance, become accomplices to genocide.
